Talking teacher effectiveness in New York.

We have a few openings for what is shaping up to be a really interesting daylong seminar about teacher effectiveness. It's in New York on Friday, February 18, with transportation and two nights' hotel paid by the Carnegie Corporation. We're including teacher-bloggers as participants, as well as journalists who cover national issues and/or districts and states in the midst of significant teacher reforms. We will be focusing on some of the under-covered topics in the teacher quality pipeline: teaching colleges, hiring and recruiting, and professional development. There will be not just traditional panels but also time for the journalists and teachers to share thoughts and brainstorm.

Details and application here. It's a really quick turnaround—applications are due Thursday—so act fast if you are interested.
